Yoga is much more than postures. The tradition includes ethics, breath, concentration and meditation, with asana as one doorway among many. Today it ranges from slow, restorative yin to dynamic vinyasa and the disciplined sequences of ashtanga.

I want to share a personal story. I was 4-5 years vanliving now and felt pretty disconnected to everything. Now I joined ecstatic dances and eco communities. I really like how ecstatic dance opens my body energies. I met some interesting people in ecocommunities and I resonate with some of them there and it's very exciting. Outside of that environment I basically don't resonate with anyone at all. I either now think creating my own retreat place is the right way to go or just continue enjoying the events for now or changing continent. But there is no way I will ever go back to "normal life"
i am at cristaland now. i spoke to the owner and i said: i want to start a community like this one. he said sarcastically "good luck" then i asked him if the land is for sale. as a response he stuck his fingers in my mouth inspecting my teeth saying "are you a slave for sale". this is what i call toxic metaframe. a clear indicator you are very very likely dealing with a narcissist. it was a nonverbal+verbal direct toxic metaframe as described in my book. always cold turkey cut with these people. another dude came to me and started accusing me of being the narcissist myself. i pulled out my masculine dominating energy and said stop. when he didnt stop i started getting louder. it took him a while to let it go. we later met and he tried to peddle back a bit and apologized. he doesnt know his GF would like to leave him if possible (not doable financially for her). He has similar toxicity in him but not as overt. many people in society are toxic. i met many in these communities
Performative spirituality refers to the practice of displaying spiritual, mindful, or "enlightened" behaviors primarily for social approval, image, or clout rather than from genuine inner conviction or transformation. It’s when someone posts aesthetic yoga photos, shares deep-sounding quotes, talks about their meditation practice, crystals, or “raising their vibration” on social media — but their actual daily behavior, relationships, and character show little real change or humility.
AI posts are fake and lying everywhere. Most social media has become unusable. X is a total mess. That's one of the reasons I created awacamp. I also love ecstatic dance and much more.
I just bought rick ruben's book. Can't wait for it to arrive. I read very very little. My only books were like advanced krya yoga or I am that but this book I am really excited about

Questions people ask
Which style of yoga is best for beginners?
Hatha and gentle or yin classes are a good start: slower paced, with time to learn alignment. Tell your teacher about any injuries.
How do I choose a yoga retreat?
Look at the daily schedule, the teacher's background, the level and the setting. Read reviews and message the organiser with questions before you book.
Can I list my yoga classes on Awakening Camp?
Yes. Members can add events and retreats for free, and teachers can create a healer profile so students can find them.
